Realms are certain beliefs that have been developed into a mindset, a new paradigm shift. The Bible says "As a man thinks, so is he". When you enter into a new realm, you are not affected by your normal circumstances. For example, when you enter into the realm of Peace, choas can be all around, but you are not move by it.
